Osage City rolls to opening round win over Lyndon

Osage City actually shot for a lower percentage on Monday night than Lyndon. Other than that fact, however, the top-seeded Indians dominated their opening-round opponent of the Flint Hills Shootout with a 56-37 win.
The Indians only allowed Lyndon 29 total shots on the night, and their stifling defense held the Tigers without their first field goal until 5:31 was left in the second quarter.
“I thought we played really good defense,” sophomore post player Carly Spicer said. “We really just did a better job of running the floor than they did.”
The Indians used a 22-0 run to open the game and never really looked back. On defense, they allowed only three shots from the field, while forcing 10 turnovers. Lyndon’s only point came on a free throw late in the first quarter to make the score 22-1.
