Anniversary reception
Joy and John Morgan will celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary with a reception Wednesday at 6 p.m. in their home, 321 S. Union St. The reception is open to the public.
Joy Hensley and John Morgan were married Jan. 21, 1994, at Grace United Methodist Church in Emporia.
The Morgans have a lawn-care service.
Beekeeping class
A basic beekeeping class will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Coffey County Public Library in Burlington. It will cover “A Year in the Life of an Apiary,” discussing getting a hive started, extracting honey, wintering bees, etc. Equipment needed for beekeeping and how to acquire bees will also be covered. This class will be useful for anyone interested in getting started in beekeeping or for those who already have a few hives. There is no charge for the class and a light lunch will be provided.
