Raymond Van Sickle was announced as the Flint Hills Antique Power Association member of the year at the annual meeting on Saturday. He has had an interest in Oliver tractors and agricultural activities for many years and can be seen in various parades, pulls, and plow days throughout the area.
The slate of officers for 2009-10 was presented. They are: Belle Grimsley of Americus, president, Tim Johnson of Council Grove, vice-president; Bill Yeager of Emporia, secretary; Cecil Cunningham of Emporia, treasurer; Amy Gilliland of Osage City and Jodi Johnson of Council Grove, historians; board members are: three-year terms, Mark Say of Emporia and Jason Gilliland of Osage City; two-year terms, Gary Watts of Emporia and Rob Gordon of Hartford; one-year terms, Walt Henrie of Admire and Wayne Eikenberry of Emporia.
Information concerning a tractor drive through the Flint Hills on May 16, rain or shine, was presented by Charles Klamm, Cottonwood Falls. For details, (620) 273-8686.
