EHS bowling teams finish 3rd at Hayden
Friday, January 16, 2009
Emporia High’s boys and girls bowling teams each finished third out of five teams at the Hayden Invite on Wednesday, the Spartans’ second tournament of the year.
The Spartan boys finished with 2,285 points at Gage Center Bowl, 289 off Seaman’s winning total and 119 behind second-place Washburn Rural. In the standard bowling format used Wednesday — as opposed to the Baker-style format used in the Spartans’ first tournament — each of six team bowlers rolls a series of three games, and the top four series scores make up the team’s overall score.
