Action on bids for an addition at Village Elementary School is among the items on the Emporia board of education agenda for its meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mary Herbert Education Center, 1700 W. Seventh Ave.
The board also will face a host of staff changes as part of its consent agenda. A total of 24 staff appointments, including paraeducators, four resignations and one retirement are included.
Requests to approve bid-letting for insurance, transportation vehicles, paper and supplies are on the agenda, as is an agreement with the city of Emporia to distribute funds for drug and alcohol education services. A request also has been made to sell surplus property at auction.
A presentation about migrant parents and a curriculum report on professional learning communities will be made.
The board will consider approving a policy amendment, an amended 2008-09 budget, and a request to purchase a telephone system.
