Johnson recognized
At the ECKAN annual dinner in Ottawa, Yvonne Johnson, Lyon County coordinator for Eckan, was recognized for 40 years of service. CEO Richard Jackson said in the news release that Johnson “has been an inspiration to many over the years and is highly respected by her colleagues.” Also, at the dinner, Autumn Irwin, Dr. Norman Powers and Jim and Joyce Cress were recognized for their volunteer work and service. Jackson said “we appreciate the support of those who are helping us make a difference in the lives of those that are touched in the counties we serve,” stated the news release.
Completes basic
Army Reserve Pfc. Scott A. Small has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, Small studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle markmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises. He is the son of Tracey Small of Lebo and Harold Small of Caldwell and a graduate of South Haven High School.
