ESU men win in 4 overtimes at Pitt State

Final
Emporia State needed four overtimes to beat Pittsburg State, 102-100, on Saturday night in Pittsburg.
The Hornets trailed through most of regulation but was able to stage a late comeback. The Hornets trailed again in the first overtime and Adam Holthaus forced a second OT with a putback of a Lamar Wilbern miss with 2.4 seconds left.
Emporia State led through most of the final three OTs and finally pulled away in the final OT when Robert Moores made a free throw with 9.1 seconds left to give ESU a four-point lead. Carlos Taylor made a 3-pointer to pull the Gorillas within one, then Moores hit one of two free throws to give ESU a 102-100 lead and Taylor missed wide at the buzzer to give the Hornets the victory.
Wilbern led ESU with 27 points and 16 rebounds. Holthaus scored a career-high 19, Moores added 17 and Niles scored 16 to round out the Hornets in double figures.

The Emporia State men trail Pittsburg State, 40-35, at half in Pittsburg.
Robert Moores leads the Hornets with 10 points, has two 3-pointers and is 4-for-4 from the filed. Matt Boswell added seven points and Adam Holthaus has five.
Pitt State jumped out to a 7-0 lead and has led throughout — never leading by more than eight.
