The Emporia Police Department will have a meeting to organize the Neighborhood Watch program at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at White Auditorium, conference Room No. 1.
“The Neighborhood Watch principle is founded on neighbors watching out for other neighbors during times when criminal activity would most likely occur and reporting suspicious activity to police,” said Brendy Allison, of the Emporia Police Department.
The public is encouraged to come. Use the west entrance of White Auditorium.
The police department has a new property marking kit that uses ink, which can only be viewed with a special UV light. Property owners wishing to mark their property with a personal ID number in case of theft can check out the marking kit at the counter of the police department.
