MAYB tournament in Emporia
Mid-America Youth Basketball will be hosting a tournament in Emporia for third- through eighth-grade boys and girls on Feb. 7-8.
The tournament carries a $150 entry fee and a three-game guarantee. The registration deadline is Jan. 23. To register, call 316-284-0354 or visit MAYB’s Web site at www.mayb.com.
MAYB is also holding tournaments for third- through eighth-grade boys and girls in the following cities:
• Lindsborg, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, registration deadline Jan. 16
• Kingman, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, registration deadline Jan. 16
• Liberal, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, registration deadline Jan. 16
• Hutchinson, Feb. 7-8, registration deadline Jan. 23
• Lawrence, Feb. 7-8, registration deadline Jan. 23

Openings for
softball players
The Emporia Energy is looking for players for the 2009 fast-pitch softball season. The team is looking mainly for U-10 and U-14 players but would be interested in players of all ages. Winter practices started this past Tuesday, so please call or e-mail soon to express your interest.
