The Start Your Own Business Course is enrolling now for people interested in starting their own business or for current small-business owners to learn more about operating a business.
Kayla Oney, executive director of Emporia Main Street, said the class starts on Feb. 26 and runs to April 23. Each class will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Flint Hills Technical College. The course is sponsored by the Flint Hills Technical College, Emporia Main Street and the Kansas Small Business Development Center.
“It’s a pretty thorough program that really gives individuals the tools necessary to succeed,” Oney said.
The course will include a variety of topics and will include speakers from professional organizations and business owners.
“That is something that is the most invaluable resource for them ... the expert people,” Oney said. “It really couples with the fundamentals. It couples the real life experience and real life situations.”
