Blood drive
The Red Cross will have a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Community Building in Cottonwood Falls. During January and February, all who donate blood at a Red Cross blood drive will receive two Sonic coupons for one donation. According to the news release, “every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.” Those donating must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds and in good health and bring a photo identification. Republican women
The Lyon County Republican Women will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the home of Doris Hanna, 909 Oxford Drive. Bill Hartman, director of Building Services at Emporia State University, will speak about “Energy Issues.” Those attending are to bring canned food for the Salvation Army for the KFRW Caring for America Project and items for boxes for soldiers for the Caring for America Project.
