Greenwood County
The Eureka Herald reported that Tuesday April 7 will be the general election for city officials and school board members in Greenwood County. The election polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day. Advance voting is available. Several positions are up for election.
Eureka
The Eureka Herald reported that Kathy Duffy, who teaches pre-kindergarten at Marshall Elementary School in Eureka, has been selected by the Eureka Teachers Association as the Eureka USD 389 Mater Teacher of the Year. She had been teaching for 26 years.
Chase County
The Chase County Leader-News reported that the Chase County Board of Commissioners met with Road and Bridge Supervisor Paul Jones at their board meeting on Feb. 23. Jones told the board he has communicated with the Kansas Department of Transportation about federal stimulus funds. KDOT has received approximately $38 million with about $4 million of those funds designated for the district Chase County is located in. Chase County will be submitting projects for the funds.
