ESU women win MIAA title outright

Final
There will be no sharing the MIAA regular season championship this year.
The Emporia State women survived a Fort Hays State comeback on Saturday night at White Auditorium and won 73-68.
Andrea Leiker made five 3-pointers and led the Lady Hornets on senior night with 21 points. Ida Edwards scored nine points and had a game-high 16 rebounds. Brittney Miller added 12 points.
Emporia State will play Southwest Baptist on Friday in the first round of the MIAA tournament at noon in Kansas City, Mo. For complete coverage of Saturday's game, check Monday's Gazette.

Andrea Leiker is making the most of her senior night. Leiker has made 6-of-7 3-pointers, has 17 points and Emporia State leads 47-33 at half.
Fellow seniors Ida Edwards and Allie Renberg both have eight points apiece. Emporia State is shooting 56.3 percent. Both teams have committed nine turnovers.
Naomi Bancroft has helped keep the score respectable for Fort Hays State. She has made 6-of-8 3-pointers and matched Leiker with 17 points.
