Announcing an arrival …
Former Emporian Steven Schellhamer is returning to his old hometown to join the Lyon County appraiser’s office, where he will work as a property appraiser II, under Gary Post, county appraiser.
A graduate of Emporia High School and Emporia State University, Schellhamer moved back to Emporia from Seattle, Wash, where he had been a deputy assessor for the King County Assessor’s Office.
He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga., in 1995 and a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University in 1997.
… And a departure
Deborah Hare is retiring after nearly 10 years as manager of Graphic Arts Street Storage Co., 701 Lantern Lane. She began with the company on July 31, 1999.
To celebrate her retirement, Hare is inviting friends and customers for coffee and doughnuts all day Friday, March 13, at her office.
The company will also hold a private family dinner to mark the occasion.
Ribbon cutting set
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Friday will celebrate Miller Financial Group’s move to a new office at 2923 W. Highway 50. The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau will be hosts for the event.
