Final
Emporia State became only the second team to win at Washburn on Wednesday night, ruining Washburn’s senior night with a 78-63 win.
Robert Moores scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, and Jeremiah Box and Lamar Wilbern helped close the game for the Hornets.
Box scored 21 and led the Hornets with eight rebounds, and Wilbern added 19 points.
Emporia State made 10-of-23 3-pointers and led by as many as 19 in the second half. Washburn closed to within three at 60-57, but the Hornets closed the game on a 18-6 run.

Robert Moores hit a buzzer-beater to put Emporia State up 41-29 over Washburn.
Moores leads the Hornets with 15 points and Lamar Wilbern has 10 points.
Emporia State shot 50 percent (15-of-30) and also made 50 percent of its 3-pointers (7-for-14).
Washburn has made only 4-of-13 3-pointers and shot 34.8 percent in the first half.

The Hornets played admirably, consistently and determinedly to win tonight and sweep both men's games of the Turnpike Tussle! The fans may have been seriously outnumbered at Lee Auditorium but the enthusiasm did not waver as the team started out ahead and never looked back.
