The 25th-ranked Emporia State women finished 4-6 over the weekend at the three-day South Central Shootout in Durant, Okla., splitting their two softball games on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Hornets lost their first game Sunday to Central Oklahoma, 8-2, and finished the Shootout with a 4-2 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State.
In the loss to Central Oklahoma, Jennifer Heerey gave up four unearned runs and Emporia State left 10 runners on base. Jenna Potter led ESU with two doubles and a run scored. Jennifer Dace and Miranda Campbell also had two hits apiece.
