LEBO — Considering the circumstance, the Lebo girls came out of Friday’s 56-47 loss to Southern Coffey County feeling as good about a loss as they could.
The Wolves were not claiming any moral victories, but they realized things could have been a whole lot worse.
Southern Coffey County’s relentless pressure forced 27 turnovers, and the Wolves played the first half and part of the third quarter without Morgan Laflin, an integral part to their success this season.
Trailing by 15 when Laflin entered the game, Lebo outscored SCC 28-22 the final 13:04 of the game, ending the regular season on a high note despite the loss.
“I feel very confident going into substate,” Lebo junior forward Lauren Schlesener said. “If we played like we did tonight — not as many turnovers — we’ll be fine.”
