If spring cleaning turns up used, unneeded toys and bicycles, the Toy Shoppe will clean and repair the items and donate them back to children in the community.
The Toy Shoppe at the Kansas Avenue Center, 315 S. Market St., is looking for a new supply of toys and bicycles, according to Mike McDougald of the Flint Hills Special Education Cooperative.
Students clean and repair toys and bicycles to redistribute to children in the community. Students also collect new toys to include in the distribution.
Collection barrels can be found at the downtown fire station, Reeble's North, and Price Chopper. Large items also will be picked up if prior arrangements are made. The Toy Shoppe does not accept any type of toy weapons.
The Toy Shoppe is open from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on days that school is in session. For more information or to arrange to have donated items picked up, call 341-2332.
