The King of Bacchus reigns Sunday

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Actor Val Kilmer has made it to New Orleans for Carnival 2009.
But before he lets the good times roll, this year's King of Bacchus will devote Friday morning to a more charitable cause — visiting patients and their families at Children's Hospital.
Visiting the hospital, Louisiana's only full-service facility dedicated to treating children, is a tradition held by every reigning Bacchus for more than 25 years. Past kings include William Shatner, Billy Crystal, Bob Hope, Charlton Heston and Jackie Gleason.
While a host of celebrities are taking part in this weekend's Carnival festivities, Kilmer has one of the busiest schedules. He will also be attending a private party, riding in the Bacchus parade Sunday night and attending the Bacchus ball.
