Showing their PRIDE
Admire PRIDE will hold an open house for the community’s new computer laboratory from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Last Chance Cafe in Admire.
S&A Telephone Company donated high-speed DSL service, wiring, router and a modem for the two computers.
S&A manager Janet Bathurst and staff members will greet visitors and refreshments will be served. Those who attend will be able to try out the free Internet service.
Tea with the Welsh
The annual Welsh Tea will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Lebo United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Warm Welsh cakes, tea, spiced apple juice and coffee will be served free of charge in a spring-like setting of yellow daffodils and Welsh memorabilia, according to sponsors.
Hostesses will be Jean Rowley, Norma Jones and Paula Evans, who hold the tea annually in honor of the Welsh who settled the Lebo, Arvonia and surrounding communities. The event is held near St. David’s Day, March 1, the anniversary of the death of the patron saint of Wales.
