Hornets sweep final day of ACU Classic

The Emporia State softball team won its final two games of the ACU Classic on Saturday in Abilene, Texas.
The Hornets won the early game 8-5 over St. Mary’s, and finished the tournament with a 7-2 win against Northeastern State.
In the early game, Miranda Campbell, Jenna Potter and Jennifer Dace all had two RBIs to lead the ESU offense. On the mound, Megan Dennis pitched all seven innings to pick up the win.
In the second game, Lindsay Bowers had three RBIs along with three hits, and Linda Ketter added two RBIs in a pinch-hitting appearance. Jennifer Heerey pitched all seven innings, striking out nine to earn the win.
The Hornets will next be in action when they head to the three-day Southeastern Oklahoma Tournament on Friday.
