ESU women win at Missouri Southern

Ida Edwards was one basket short of an MIAA record and Emporia State rolled to an easy 79-56 win on Saturday at Missouri Southern.
Edwards scored 22 points on 10-of-10 shooting — 11-for-11 is the MIAA record — and she also had six rebounds and six assists.
Edwards missed a buzzer-beater at the end of the first half, but she was not credited with the miss.
Sophia Lenard scored 11 points and led ESU with nine assists. Allie Renberg scored 13 points and joined Alli Volkens for the team lead in rebounds with seven.
Emporia State improves to 21-3 and 15-2 in the MIAA. The Lions, who had won eight of nine, drop to 17-6 and 11-5 in the MIAA.

Emporia State leads Missouri Southern 44-27 at half.
Ida Edwards leads the Lady Hornets with 12 points and the stats keeper have her down for 6-of-6 shooting; however, she did miss a jumper at the buzzer. Edwards also leads the team with six rebounds.
Sophia Lenard added nine points and has five rebounds. Andrea Leiker is 1-for-6 from the field but has made 4-for-4 at the line and has seven points.
Emporia State is shooting 48.5 percent, and is outrebounding Southern 25-13.
