Here they come again

Fred Phelps’ Westboro Baptist Church plans to include Emporia High School among its picketing targets this week. A release from the church said the picketers, who have been demonstrating at Kansas high schools recently, will be at EHS from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Also on this week’s schedule is Lawrence High School on Thursday.

The Westboro contingent should find a quiet reception at EHS. There is no school Friday because of parent-teacher conferences.

Fire kills three children

ABILENE — Authorities say three children are dead after a weekend fire swept their Abilene home.

Abilene Police Chief Bryan Dunlap said today that the mother of the children, Diane Baquero, “was in close proximity to the home studying for a test” when the fire broke out at 11 p.m. Saturday. In a news release, Dunlap said the fire appears to have been accidental but the exact cause is unknown.

The dead children are identified as 7-year-old Ramon Baquero, 5-year-old Nyah Baquero and 4-year-old William Baquero. No other injuries were reported.

Dunlap said the Kansas State Fire Marshall, Topeka Fire Department and Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department are also investigating the fire.

According to the WBC website of scheduled appearances, it looks like they have rescheduled due to finding out there is no school that day.

Against my better judgment, I visited that horrible website. I am torn between nausea and emotional breakdown. It does give the date 02/16 from 2:45 to 3:30 now. The reason, which is what I wanted to know, was that our DA took them to court and now the children need to pay for the "sins of their fathers."
This "pastor" and this "church" are vile and corrupt. They do NOT represent in any way, the God of the Bible--the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I am ANGRY that they dare to invoke the name of God in their personal, hateful vendettas and use His Word to justify it. I must remind myself that God has said, "19. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. 20. BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." Romans 12:19-20 (New American Standard Bible)
These people usurp the name of God, so it is His justice to have--and He WILL have it! I guess I need to pray for His grace to be able to do vs. 20 if He places me in any such position--only HE could perform such a thing in me. My inward desire toward this group is to break the 6th Commandment.............................
God's grace is sufficient.

have the WBC filed for a permit yet with the police dept to protest, if they haven't then they probably are not coming, a lot of the crap on ther website as far as the protesting never happens, they just like to get people fired up for nothing.
I am a bit confused about why the story about the fire is in the same story about the WBC? what am I missing?

Good post, oh4theluvof, thanks for the information. I too am greatly disturbed by this group. Perhaps, in keeping God's word, we should all get together when they come and serve them hot beverages and cookies, thereby heaping burning coals. I wonder if any community has tried that. I'd be willing to donate to such a cause.

I hope parents will speak to their children beforehand about being calm and not paying attention to these depraved, lost souls.
