COBURN’S RESTAURANT, which is celebrating 11 years in business.
• ESB Financial, which earned a 5-Star Superior rating for strength and stability from Bauer Financial, a leading bank rate firm.
• The Emporia High School girls basketball team, which won its third straight Glacier’s Edge tournament title. The team beat Manhattan 45-27 to win its latest title.
• The Olpe High School girls basketball team, which won its fourth straight Lyon County League title. The team beat Southern Coffey County 62-58 to give the Olpe girls the championship.
• The St. Patrick’s Day Committee, which has chosen the Learning Center Preschool and the Young Thespian Players to receive the proceeds from its annual fundraising auction. The auction will be 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at Bruff’s.
• Joni Black and Jeline Harclerode, who have been nominated for Kansas State Teacher of the Year. Black is an interrelated special education teacher at Lowther North Intermediate School, and Harclerode is an eighth-grade Connect teacher at Emporia Middle School.
• The Jones Trust, which gave $120,000 to the Flint Hills Technical College to bring the latest in interactive educational teleconferencing technology to campus.
