Olpe seniors will be honored
The 2009 graduating class of Olpe High School will be honored along with their parents on Feb. 10 at the Olpe and Cair Paravel basketball game. The 34 seniors will be recognized immediately after the girls’ varsity game which begins at 6 p.m. that evening.
Olpe High School will hold its King and Queen of Courts ceremony on Feb. 13 when the Eagles play West Franklin. The boys’ and girls’ junior varsity games start at 5 p.m. with the varsity girls beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ varsity game.
Admission to Olpe High School games costs $3 for adults and $2 for students.
Etiquette program planned
The National League of Junior Cotillions, a program of etiquette, character education and social dance training for middle and junior high school students, has announced plans to establish its national program in Lyon County, according to a news release. Attend Democratic meeting
Local Democrats who attended the 1st Congressional Democrat District Reorganizational meeting in Hutchinson were James Bordonaro, Mike Dorcey, Stan and Barb Fowler, Alan Rees and Sharon Karr. Kansas state treasurer Dennis McKinney was the featured speaker. Delegates and alternates to the Kansas State Democrat Committee meeting and 1st District officers were elected.
