Olpe city meeting
The Olpe City Council meets at 7 p.m. today in City Hall.
The agenda includes fire station lease/purchase agreement, water contract with Rural Water District 3; surplus items for bid; year-end adjustments; mayor’s comments; and adjournment.
Vehicle tags
Wednesday is the last day for people whose last name begins with the letters U, X, Y or Z to renew their vehicle registrations without a penalty. The motor vehicle office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Lyon County Courthouse will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Those renewing are to bring driver’s licenses along with proof of insurance for each vehicle.
Birthday celebration
An open house reception to celebrate the 80th birthday of Fred Windle will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Olpe. The family requests no gifts.
