NAMI group
Efforts are underway to form a local mental health support group for Lyon County by NAMI Kansas, the state organization for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, according to a news release from NAMI in Topeka. “We are interested in hearing from local residents who are personally affected by mental illness, including family members who have a loved one with a mental health diagnosis,” stated Rick Cagan, executive director for NAMI Kansas, in the news release. NAMI Kansas will provide technical support from its offices in Topeka and through the statewide network of volunteers. For more information, call (800) 539-2660 or see www.namikansas.org. The Emporia Support Group of NAMI will not meet until further notice.
