Schankies lead Madison to win

Madison had four players in double figures and eight 3-pointers on Saturday, keying a 67-45 victory over Hartford in the teams’ final game at the season-opening Lebo Tournament.

Kole Schankie broke out of what coach Alan Brown termed a “mini-slump” to lead the Bulldogs in scoring, contributing 17 points. Brother Kale Schankie added 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Reece Childers also contributed 12 points with six assists. Zach Nowell provided 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Adam Ewy led Hartford in scoring with 11 points, Chris Schwinghamer had nine and Dustin Lingenfelter had seven. Madison finished the tournament 2-1; the Bulldogs travel to Flinthills on Tuesday night. Hartford went 1-2 in tournament action and will host Lebo on Tuesday.

Trevor White scored 14 points to lead Lebo to a 3-0 record to conclude its home tournament, and Brent Gould added 12 in the easy win over White City.

The Huskies scored five, seven, one and six points in each quarter. Devon Johnston had seven points for the Wolves, and Thadd Barker and Tyson Robke each had six.

Madison finished the Lebo Tournament at 3-0 with a 20-point win over Hartford, led by 21 points from Shelby Buster.

Buster scored eight of her points during a 20-point third quarter for the Bulldogs that pushed their lead to 22. Chelcie Schankie added 13 points for Madison, and Morgan Stout had 11.

Kellie Farr and Mikayla Wilson each had 11 points to lead Hartford, and Samantha Wilkerson added 10 for the Jaguars.

Lebo held White City to single-digit points in every quarter, and the Wolves ended their tournament performance with a 39-point blowout win.

Lauren Schlesener led Lebo with 15 points, 13 of them coming in the first half. The Wolves had balanced scoring, with 10 players notching a basket. Morgan Tastove added nine points, and Jessica Robertson had eight.

Lebo held White City to only three points in each of the first and third quarters. Mindy Stilwell scored 17 of the Huskies’ 20 points.
