• “God Inspires,” paintings by Marck Drennan, will be on display through Sept. 26 at the Emporia Arts Council, 618 Mechanic St. Drennan has sold, auctioned, exhibited and donated art in Panama, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Florida and Connecticut. He lives in Emporia and teaches art at the elementary level, stated the news release. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; and by appointment. • The Bethany Springer exhibit, “Showcase Showdown,” continues through Oct. 31, 2009, in the Norman R. Eppink Gallery at the ESU Department of Art. The closing reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Bruder Theater lobby. Gallery hours are 1 to 5p.m. Monday through Friday.
