A 20-year-old man was taken to a Topeka hospital early this morning, for treatment of a knife wound apparently sustained during a social gathering in the 1000 block of Janice Street.
Emporia Police Sgt. Mark Summey said that Clinton James Drake apparently was stabbed in the neck and taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment.
"He didn't have life-threatening injuries," Summey said.
However, because of the location of the wound, he was sent to Topeka for treatment. When police checked Drake's condition at the hospital this morning, a hospital spokesperson said that he had been released.
Investigation is continuing into the case.
"We weren't able to develop a lot of information from the victim," Summey said.
