The monthly meeting of the Riverside 4-H club was called to order by junior president Jade Jenkins on Aug. 9 at the Miller United Methodist Church. Roll call, “What is your favorite carnival ride?” was answered by 13 members, one leader, seven parents and two future 4-H members.
Members signed up for offices they want to hold next year, with the election to be held at the meeting on Sept. 2 at the same location. It was announced that record books and officers’ books are due Sept. 4.
For Parliamentarian, Jenkins had the group match words with their definitions. Talks were given by members about their greatest achievement during the fair. Moriah Miner talked about the exchange trip with the 4-H. Last year they went to New York; this year the people from New York came here. For song, Sarah Robinson led the group in singing “International Harvester.” Before they adjourned, the group put up their chairs for recreation and then made ice cream sundaes.
