Chase County
The Chase County Leader-News reported that the USD 284 Board of Education adopted the district’s fiscal year 2010 budget. The FY10 budget levies 52.214 mills, which represents .008 mills lower than last year. The actual funds generated by the levy will be about $64,000 less than last year because of a 3.2 percent reduction in the district’s assessed valuation.
Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that the 2010 budget was passed. Coffey County commissioners approved the 2010 budget as published in the July 24 issue of the Republican. The 2010 proposed budget reflects a 5.857 increase in the mill levy rate. That amounts to a $67.36 increase for the owner of a $100,000 home.
