New urologist here Sept. 2

A urologist soon will be available to treat area residents at Newman Regional Health.
Dr. Bradley W. Rupp will begin seeing patients on Sept. 2 at the hospital. He will be in Emporia the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
Initially, his office will be on the first floor of the hospital in the specialty clinic.
Beginning on Sept. 16, he will see patients in the Newman Medical Plaza adjoining the hospital, at 1301 W. 12th Ave., Suite 201.
Rupp has an office in Topeka and also has clinics in Lansing, Seneca, Sabetha and Holton.
He received his degree from the University of Missouri Medical School in Columbia and completed a residency in 2001 at the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Urology, and practices general urology for males and females, with an emphasis in genitourinary oncology and female oncology.
According to information from Beth Hammond, marketing and business development specialist for Newman, Rupp will perform the following procedures at Newman:
• GreenLight Laser therapy for enlarged prostate
• Transurethral Electro-Resection Bladder Tumor (TURBT)
• Ureteroscopy (endoscopy of the ureter)
• Cystoscopy with bladder biopsy
• Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for kidney stones
• Tension Free Vaginal Tape (TVT) for stress incontinence
• Cystocele repair for fallen bladder
• Scrotal procedures
• Orchiopexy, to move an undescended testicle
• Prostate biopsy
• Cystoscopy (endoscopy of the bladder)
• Vasectomy
Patients may make appointments by calling centralized scheduling at Newman Regional Health, 343-6800, extension 1167.
Other visiting physicians that provide specialty services at Newman are Ted Daughety, pulmonology, breathing and sleep disorder; Mark Steffan, interventional pain clinic; Emporia Anesthesia Associates Nurse Anesthetists, interventional pain management; Joseph Abdallah and Uhsasri Challa, nephrology; and Thomas Truong, podiatry.
