Dinner for Bowyer fund

A dinner and auction to raise money for Clint Bowyer’s 79 Fund has 100 tickets still available.
Ray Toso, local organizer for the fundraising effort, said that the dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 29 in the Civic Auditorium.
Tickets cost $100 each and may be had by calling Toso at 343-8050 or Richelle Birk at Flint Hills Towing, 343-2326.
The menu will include barbecued brisket and turkey breast from Bad Ol’ Bern’s BBQ and Ice Cream and side dishes and dinnerware from Bruff’s Bar and Grill.
Both restaurants have donated a portion of the foods, with Dolly Madison donating buns.
“General Mills provided some of the side dishes as well, too, because obviously that’s Clint’s sponsor,” Toso said.

The 79 fund is Bowyer's charity. He's used it for various good works in Emporia. He paid for kids backpacks with school supplies and free swimming this year. Among other things.

madpoet-"various good works" is right! The kids are the reason for this fund.Also the fund gave 20 grand to Camp Alexander,PC's for the library,etc.
