If you’re in the market for a bed, lift chair or even a box of games and crafts, the site of the former Emporia Rehabilitation is the place to get all those things and more Saturday.
The North Central Flint Hills Area on Aging will hold a “garageless” garage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the former Emporia Rehabilitation site, 221 W. Logan Ave. The building is now being used as a cook site for Lyon County for the Friendship Meals program. The rest of the building in the future will be used to house nonprofit agencies.
The aging agency is trying to raise money to purchase the building and it is still more than $100,000 short.
Items for sale include 45 crank hospital beds with mattresses for $5 each and bedding to go with the beds for $5 a set. Other items will include a few walkers and wheelchairs and boxes of games and crafts. Some office furniture, lift chairs and couches will be sold as well. Two stoves and a small television will also be at the sale. All items will be cash and carry; there will be no deliveries.
If shoppers are hungry during the sale there will be a pancake feed from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tickets for the pancake feed cost $5 for adults and children 10 and under cost $2.50. For lunch pulled pork sandwiches will be available for $4.
