Bread baked in a bathtub, popcorn bursting on a solar grill and cooking a hot dog in a Pringle’s canister are among the foods that will be prepared at a solar cooking demonstration from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Farmers Market at Seventh Avenue and Merchant Street.
John Crisp of Shepherd’s Valley farm northwest of Americus, along with some of his students, will demonstrate a variety of solar cooking techniques and will talk about the history of solar cooking.
