Elexa Dawson and Melissa Tastove, formerly of Elexa and the Hitchhikers, have joined with new members Sarah Bays and Brandi Emley to form “The Skirts,” an all female folk rock ensemble. In additon to many private engagements, their upcoming local shows include one today, beginning at 9 p.m. with a solo performance by Dawson, at Captain Drinkwater’s in Strong City. They also will perform Sept. 7 on the Cottonwood River bridge as part of the Cottonwood Falls Labor Day celebration.
