SEEKING INFORMATION on a crime that happened at 1201 Prairie St. on July 29 between 12 midnight and 3:30 a.m.
Some person or persons damaged and destroyed the lights around a memorial made for James Dale Aubert. This memorial means more than words can express to James’ family. We are hoping the criminals who chose to do this will be prosecuted.
We are offering a reward of $200 for information leading to an arrest and prosecution of the person or people who committed this crime. Contact the Emporia Police Department.

How awful! I hope you catch the vandals. People seem to be so disrepectful of others' property anymore. I came out of Walmart one evening to find my side mirror dangling from the wire. Someone had to have known they broke it loose but didn't leave a note or anything. Truly disgusting!

I left a note, it must of gotten blown off your windshield wiper. But all it said was "Sorry about your mirror" anyways.

I was riding my bike in the Walmarts parking lot and this note flew off this SUV and stuck to my face(like in the movies) and I couldn't see(cuz I can't see through stuff yet) and I wrecked my bike into another SUV causing damage and stuff. I didn't have a pen or paper with me to leave a note so I just left the note that blinded me on the SUV I wrecked into. They were probably confused by the note because it said something about a mirror and the damage to their SUV was a big dent in the back.

I am so sorry to hear this Sharon I know how much James meant to the whole family and it is to bad that people have no respect for others with the words they say or the actions they take.

I don't know Sharon, but I respect her request and her efforts to make this better. Seriously, I know you didn't start the smart comments, but I am disappointed in all the bloggers making light of this. My opinion is that it is disrespectful. And, Seriously, I point at you personally because I really do enjoy your humor, however, this time I think it was out of place.
