HUTCHINSON (AP) — Boaters who ignored warnings of high winds kept rescuers busy over the weekend at Cheney Reservoir.
Reservoir officials say four boats carrying a total of 13 people capsized after the boats were swamped.
All 13 people were wearing life jackets and no injuries were reported.
Cheney Park Ranger Ryan Stucky says emergency personnel and equipment, including a helicopter, were used Saturday and yesterday to search for passengers.
A helicopter was dispatched late Saturday after a boat carrying eight people was reported swamped. Stucky says the eight were rescued by a civilian boat. The helicopter was also summoned yesterday after another boat went under.
The four boats went down in different areas of the lake.

Since everyone dies does that mean that no one has been selected yet?

Naw, the ironic thing is that the smarter ones who survive longer wind up paying for those who do themselves in through higher insurance and medical fees. Wonder who is the smart one now???

So do they tell some babies that they will only live till they are 38? Maybe that is why some babies cry a lot, cuz they know their days are numbered. That explains a lot.

How early were the wind warnings made.... I know that I was enjoying a very beautiful day, I didn't even have the radio on, the sun was shining, the wind was non-existant, and within actual minutes it went from a very calm to a very (45+ mph) windy day. Could it possible be that at least some of the boaters were not aware of the danger.... I guess ignorance is no excuse, but if the information isn't out there, how's a person supposed to know?
