The annual Finney reunion was Aug. 2, 2009, at the Americus United Presbyterian Church, where a covered dish luncheon was served at noon. The invocation was given by Wilma Jeanne Dawes.
Families who attended from the late Elmer and Eva Finnery, Bert and Glada Finney Fowler and Harry and Hazel Finney Anderson were those from out of state, Ernest and Mary Fowler of Marietta, Ga.; and, those from Kansas: Bill and Wilma Finney, Bill and Carrie Finney, J.D. and Wilma Jeanne Dawes and Edna Johnson of Emporia; Elsie Anderson, Justin, Jennifer, Kelsey and Cameron Bosch, Ernestine Hatch and Bryan and Susie Finney, all of Americus; Clayton and Pat Finney, John and Heather Finney, Roberta and Wiletta Lewis and Jim Lewis, all of Council Grove; Tim, Anna, Jessica and Gene Finney of Allen; John and Juleen Young of Madison; Adam, Liz, Kendall and Morgan Young of Vassar; Chris Sweet of Topeka; Don and Alex Bobbitt, Jack Green and Juanita Meyers of Wichita; Gene Hickman of Axtell; and Brent and Janet Bobbitt of Haysville.
