BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) — A Tecumseh man has been sentenced to prison in connection with the theft of 15 head of cattle stolen from a farm in Alma, Kan.
Authorities say 50-year-old Thomas Baum was found in March with 15 head of cattle that belonged to Nancy Miller of Alma. Authorities say Baum was trying to sell the cattle at a sale barn north of Beatrice.
He was convicted of theft by receiving stolen property.
The nine Black Angus cows and six calves were valued at $600 to $900 each.
Baum was sentenced last week in Gage County District Court to 18-to-36 months in prison. He had faced up to 20 years.

Don't laugh, they would have received probation here. Be glad he was tried in Nebraska.
