ESU women picked to finish 7th
The Emporia Gazette
The MIAA coaches picked the Emporia State men’s cross country team to finish fifth and the women seventh in the preseason poll released Friday.
Both teams placed seventh a year ago in the conference championships and each had an All-MIAA performer. Skyler Delmott placed fifth in last year’s MIAA Championships for the Hornet men and Katie Mona was ninth for the ESU women. Both Mona and Delmott return this season.
The Hornets will open the cross country season on Sept. 5 at the Bob Timmons KU Invitational on the Rim Rock Farm northwest of Lawrence. ESU is hosting the MIAA Championships this season on Oct. 24 at Jones Park in northwest Emporia.
