Celebrating Scouting
Friday, August 7, 2009
Anyone ever affiliated with Boy Scouts of America — whether as scouts, leaders, or parents — is eligible to help capture the history of Scouting throughout northeast Kansas as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of Boy Scouts of America, which began in 1910.
A nationwide, year-long celebration of Scouting centennial will begin next year.
As part of the “Calling All Scouts” project, the Jayhawk Council wants to hear from Scouts of all ages, their families and volunteers who have run this movement for 100 years.
Anyone with a story to tell may go on line at www.callingallscouts.org. Selected stories will be featured at major Scouting events, some will be added to a council memory book and the best stories will be sent to a national competition for inclusion in the National BSA Hall of Leadership. Photos also are needed.
