Budget discussion
A public information session about the 2009-2010 school district budget will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Mary Herbert Education Center, 1700 W. Seventh Ave.
The information session will be followed by a formal public budget hearing at 7 p.m. by the board of education.
A “Budget at a Glance” is available online at www.usd253.org/home/ under “Upcoming Events.” Copies of the budget will be available at the meetings or can be picked up in the business office at Mary Herbert.
County meeting
Lyon County commissioners will meet for a study session at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County Commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse, 430 Commercial St. Items on the agenda include possible approval to rent a Bobcat S220 high flow with a 24” high flow planer for $3,400 a month for one month from White Star Machinery & Supply to plane failed areas on asphalt roads so they can be patched.

lyon county must be a lot more violent than when i was a kid in highschool. we had a sheriff, under sheriff and a deputy and he probably had his bullet in his shirt pocket but, they did a good job except there was a period of time when some of them got caught with their pants down.
