“It’s a beautiful day in Emporia” isn’t just a saying that you hear on the radio or at some of the businesses in Emporia. NO, it’s much more!
On July 25-26, the Knights of Columbus Leo Council 727 in Emporia hosted the Knights of Columbus state golf tournament. Over 100 golfers participated, coming from Pittsburg to Hays and all points in between.
Rich Jaggard and all the employees at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, the hotels, restaurants, and other local establishments did an outstanding job welcoming these guests, some for two days, some longer. Special thanks to all of our hole sponsors, the CVB, city of Emporia and to many others to mention by name, but without the committee headed by Gene Ohlman and Carl Rolf and there spouses as committee chairs and all the others on the committee — well, thanks!
So, when you hear, “It’s a beautiful day in Emporia,” golfers from around Kansas will surely agree. Thanks, Emporia and Emporians for making them feel at home.
