The Summer Meals program at the Emporia schools has ended for the year. School resumes on Aug. 13, along with daily meal service.

Friendship Meals

EMPORIA

Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.

Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.

These meals will be served next week:

Monday: hamburger steak, oven-browned potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread, frozen fruit salad.

Tuesday: barbecue rib patties, bun, hash brown casserole, green beans, watermelon.

Wednesday: roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, bread, fluffy fruit salad.

Thursday: baked chicken, wild rice, broccoli-cauliflower salad, applesauce gelatin and bread.

Friday: chicken salad bowl, bread stick, honey dew melon, crispy rice bar.

NORTH LYON COUNTY

Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.

Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

These meals will be served next week:

Monday: barbecue rib patties, bun, hash brown casserole, green beans, rosy applesauce.

Tuesday: hamburger steak, stuffed baked potato, mixed vegetables, bread, watermelon.

Wednesday: fish, macaroni salad, sliced tomato, bread, grapes.

Thursday: roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, hot roll, blueberry turnovers.

Friday: lemon baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, Scandanavian-blend vegetables, biscuit, seasonal fruit.

• Menus are provided by the senior meal programs and the Emporia school district.
