A pet therapy program is being organized by Hospice Care of Kansas, 1309 W. Sixth Ave.
Involving pets as certified therapy animals is another way to improve the quality of life for patients near the ends of their lives.
The Beanie Thompson Pet Therapy Program was created through a donation from, and named for, a Hospice patient.
The fund helps pet owners gets their dogs trained and certified as therapy animals.
People who have certified therapy dogs or dogs with personalities suited for the task may call Hospice Care of Kansas volunteer coordinator Connie Dreher, 343-0080.
