A Neil Simon play, “The Dinner Party,” will be the next production by the Community Theatre of Emporia troupe.
A news release from CTE described the comedy as “a decidedly French dinner party served up in a chaotic mode that only a master of comedy could create.”
The play features five people who have been invited to dine at a first-class restaurant in Paris. They have no idea who the other guests will be nor do they know why they have been invited.
“Tossed together in a private dining room, they have a sneaking suspicion that this unorthodox dinner party will forever change their lives,” the release stated.
Cast members are: Jan Borst, Jason Henderson, Stacey Hoover, Dan Leach, Myrna Stephens and Jim Tefelski.
The play will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 14 through 17, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. May 17, at 2705 W. Highway 50, next to the Price Chopper store.
Tickets are priced at $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $5 for students. Special pricing is available for members and for groups of 10 or more.
Reservations may be made by calling 341-9283 or by visiting the group’s Web site at www.cteks.com.
