Lyon County Appraiser Gary Post will serve another four years following a 2-1 vote by Lyon County Commissioners during Thursday morning’s Lyon County Commission action session.
Commissioners appointed Gary Post to a four-year term that will run from July 1 to June 13, 2013.
“I think with Gary’s years of experience in the office it will serve him well in the next four years,” Commission Vice-Chairman Rollie Martin said.
Commissioner Scott Briggs voted against the appointment. He said it was too early to make the decision, which should be postponed.
In other business:
• Commissioners approved office equipment purchases for up to $3,700 for Lyon County Assistant Counselor Michael Halleran.
• Commissioners authorized Briggs to sign a contract between the secretary of Health and Environment of Kansas and Lyon County. This is a contract with the agency and will bring in $9,072.
