Emporia High finished in second place at a swimming meet in Manhattan on Monday.
Manhattan won the meet with 463 points, followed by Emporia with 348 points, Hutchinson with 305, Hays with 164 and Thomas More Prep-Marian finished last with 28 points.
The Spartans had four individuals and two relays teams come away with second-place finishes.
The EHS divers racked up the most points for the Spartans. Ashley Wheeler finished in second in one-meter diving, followed by teammates Chelsey Kessler and Madison Reiber in third and fourth, respectively.
Rebecca Tidwell led the Spartan swimmers with two second- place finishes. Tidwell finished second in the 50-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Kathryn Scherich finished in second, follow by teammate Michelle Thompson in third and Erica Krueger in fifth. Jalen Hollenbeck finished third in the 200-yard freestyle.
Both the 200-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle relay teams took second place.
